First signs of pregnancy, early pregnancy symptoms

Pregnancy symptoms are different and innodividual for different women; but the most common and well-known indicator is menstrual disorder. Its good to know the signs of pregnancy, as any of them can point out not only to pregnancy, but to a disease.

Some women have the first signs of pregnancy already during the 1 week after conception. Others have these symptoms several weeks later, or dont experience them at all. Lets list the most common signs of pregnancy.


Implantation bleeding:

The implantation bleeding is one of very early symptoms of pregnancy. The fetus lands on uterine wall approximately six-twelve days after impregnation. Some women have bleeding and cramps along with this process.
Other causes: normal menstruation, unsheduled menstruation, side effect of some birth control pills, infection, injury inflicted during sex.


Delay of menstruation/menstrual disorder:

Delay of menstruation or menstrual disorder is the most famous and common symptom of pregnancy, that makes the woman take pregnancy test. While pregnant, woman has a month-long delay of menstruation. Many pregnant women have bleeding, however, the menstruation ends quickly and is less intensive than it usually is. Delay of menstruation can be explained by lots of reasons, besides pregnancy. However, given the fact that you lead a sexually active life, if you have a menstruation delay, its better to take pregnancy test.
Other causes: hypernormal weight loss/gain, chronic fatigue, hormonal dysregulations, stress, discontinuation of contraceptive pills, breastfeeding.


Breast swelling/hypersensitization:

Swelling or hypersensitization of breasts is an sign of pregnancy that appears during the first two weeks after conception. Woman can notice the  changes in her breasts; they respond to every touch, even insignificant, hurt and swell.
Other causes: hormonal imbalance, contaceptive pills, premenstrual syndrome (PMS) can also be the reasons of breast swelling and  increase in sensitivity.


Rapid fatigability/apathism:

Feeling of tiredness or apathy is an indicator of pregnancy, usually appearing within the first week after impregnation.
Other causes: stress, defatigation, depression, gravedo, influenza or other illnesses.


Nausea/toxemia:

This well-known symptom of pregnancy often appears during the second-eighth week. Some lucky women dont experience nausea  during the whole pregnancy, but the absolute majority of pregnant women suffer from toxemia from the start until the end.
Other causes: food poisoning, stress, gastrointestinal issues can also lead to nausea.


Back pain:

Pain in the back can also indicate early pregnancy; however, a small pain periodically appears during the whole period of pregnancy.
Other causes: premenstrual syndrome (PMS), stress, back problems, physical or mental load.
Headache and migraine:

Sudden increase of hormones level in the body can cause headaches during early pregnancy.  
Other causes: bodys water deprivation, abstinence from caffeine, premenstrual syndrome, immoderate eye strain and other illnesses may cause chronic or periodic headaches.


More frequent uresiesthesia:

Approximately during sixth-eighth week after conception you will feel the desire to urinate more often than usually.
Other causes: virulent disease of urogenital system, diabetes, excessive fluid consumption or diuretic abuse (urinatives).


Darkening of the area around nipples:

The darkening of the skin around nipples also indicates pregnancy.
Other causes: hormonal imbalance, not linked to pregnancy, or a residual effect after the previous pregnancy.


Appetite increase/certain types of food cravings:

Its not necessary that you will want to enjoy vanilla ice-cream or pickled cucumbers, but most pregnant women nevertheless have cravings for certain types of food. This symptom persists during the whole pregnancy.
Other causes: bad diet, lack of certain nutrient or vitamin, stress, depression, approaching menstruation.
